The Science Lab, named so because it was initially a school science laboratory, art department and canteen, was originally built in 1935. After a while it was converted into two split level flats and has now been transformed into one 4-bedroom family home.
The client’s aim was to refurbish the property whilst ensuring they kept the original period ‘look’ of the school building. We were chosen to help reinstate period-correct bespoke steel windows to the whole property.
A full site survey was undertaken, drawings were approved by the client and then after manufacturing the windows it was time to install. The bespoke steel multilight pivot windows span the length of the building filling the whole property with natural light. Complete with traditional steel glazing bars, and minimal sight lines, from the outside it truly is like looking back in time at the old Science Lab.
